This article describes the Office 2003 issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Office 2003 post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated April 5, 2006.

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue:
  • 917689 Relative hyperlinks are changed and no longer work correctly in a file that is saved in Office 2003

This hotfix package also fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you try to close a Microsoft Office 2007 program, the program may stop unexpectedly (crash). Additionally, you receive an event that resembles the following event when you view the Application log in Event Viewer:

  • The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix on a computer that is running Office 2003 with SP2 installed or without SP2 installed. However, we have tested this hotfix more extensively on Office 2003 with SP2 than we have on Office 2003 without SP2. If you install this hotfix on a computer that is running Office 2003 without SP2, some file conflicts might occur. We support this configuration, but we do not recommend this configuration.
