INTRODUCTIONThis article describes the Windows SharePoint Services issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated April 14, 2006. Issue that the hotfix package fixesThis hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article: - E-mail messages that are generated by the Request Access feature are sent to incorrect e-mail addresses.
Consider the following scenario. You enable the Request Access feature on a Windows SharePoint Services Web site. The e-mail address that you specify in the Send all requests for access to the following e-mail address box contains an apostrophe character. For example, you specify that all requests for access are sent to some'one@microsoft.com.
When a user requests access to the Web site, the e-mail message that contains the request is not sent to the intended recipient. Instead, the e-mail message is incorrectly sent to two recipients.
For example, you specify that all requests for access be sent to some'one@microsoft.com. The e-mail message is incorrectly sent to the following e-mail addresses:- some'
- one@microsoft.com
This problem occurs because the e-mail address that you specify in the Send all requests for access to the following e-mail address box is HTML-encoded.
