This article describes the Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated May 4, 2006.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • You run a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro to determine the animation effects that are applied to an AutoShape object in Microsoft PowerPoint 2002. However, the VBA macro may not return the correct values for the animation effects that are applied to this object.
  • If the built-in design templates in PowerPoint 2002 are not installed, you receive the following error message when you open the Slide Design task pane:
    This feature is not available. To make this feature available, please run Setup again, select "Add or Remove Features" and change the feature to "Run from My Computer" or "Run from CD/network".
    You receive this error message when you use one of the following methods to open the Slide Design task pane:
    • On the Format menu, you click Slide Design.
    • On the File menu, you click New. Then, you click From design template in the New Presentation task pane.
    • In any task pane, you click Slide Design - Design Templates in the Other Task Panes list.
