SYMPTOMSWhen you try to upgrade to Groove Virtual Office 3.x, you
may receive the following error message: Parameter is
Incorrect CAUSEThis issue occurs if one or more of the following conditions
are true:
- You restart Microsoft Windows as a user who has insufficient
permissions.
- The computer software that is related to the upgrade does not meet the minimum requirements of Groove Virtual Office 3.x. An example of this kind of software is Internet Explorer.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use one or both of the following methods as appropriate for your situation.Method 1: Restart WindowsRestart
Windows and log on as the user who installed Groove. You must use a single account to install Groove and to restart Windows. This account must be in the local
Administrators group.
If you install Groove by using
one account and then restart Windows and log on with another account, the
installation may not finish correctly. Method 2: Upgrade the softwareUpgrade the
software that does not meet the minimum requirements of Groove Virtual Office
3.x to the latest version.
Consider the following scenario. You start the upgrade to Groove Virtual Office
3.0c or a later version of Groove from a computer that meets the minimum software
requirements. However, your account is also present on a computer that uses
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5. In this case, the triggered upgrade on the non-compliant
computer will stop responding. You must use the Task Manager tool to end the
process, upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer, and then upgrade Groove Virtual
Office 3.x again.
Consider a similar scenario in which you upgrade to Groove Virtual
Office 3.0a or 3.0b. In this case, Groove prompts you many times to restart your computer
before you receive the error message. You must uninstall
Groove, upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer, reinstall Groove Virtual Office 3.x, and then import your account from the
first computer by using the Setup Multiple Computers option.
