You should exclude transient data from any backup of the computer that is running Groove Enterprise Relay Server (917219)
The information in this article applies to:
- Groove Enterprise Relay Server 2.5
- Groove Enterprise Relay Server 3.0
- Groove Enterprise Relay Server 3.1
INTRODUCTIONThis article describes why you should exclude transient
data from any backup of the computer that is running Groove
Enterprise Relay Server.MORE INFORMATIONWhen you run a backup of the computer that is running
Enterprise Relay Server, make sure that you exclude the Relay
Queue Store (RQS) directories and the Flat File Queue (FFQ) directories.
Note The FFQ directories are present only in Enterprise Relay Server 3.x.
Because
the data in these directories is transient, there is no benefit to
including the directories in the backup. Additionally, if the backup program has these directories
locked when Enterprise Relay Server tries to delete and compress the directories, Enterprise Relay Server may stop responding (hang).
