INTRODUCTION

MORE INFORMATION

You can configure the Groove Enterprise Management Server (EMS) to use a port other than the default HTTP port 80.
  • If you have not manually created the EMS Web site in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), you can configure a custom port during the installation process. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Follow the standard EMS installation directions through to the assignment of the Web site Information.
    2. In Web site Information, change the value from the default of 80 to the desired port number for the EMS Web site in the Web site TCP Port field.
    3. In the EMS Server URL field, modify the value to include the nonstandard port number. The modified syntax should resemble the following:

      http://hostname[:portnumber]/gms.dll
Note The hostname and portnumber placeholders represent the host name and the port number respectively.
  • If you manually created the EMS Web site under IIS in advance of installing the EMS server, you cannot c hange these values during the EMS installation. However, you can change these values after the EMS installation in IIS. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Right-click the EMS Web site, and then click Properties.
    2. Click the Web Site tab, type the new port number in the TCP Port box, and then click OK.
Note The EMS Web site TCP port and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port cannot be set to the same port number.
