You cannot specify an address in the Cc box, an address in the Bcc box, or text in the body of an e-mail message in a "mailto" hyperlink in Office programs (916858)

SYMPTOMSWhen you insert a "mailto" hyperlink into a document in one of the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section, you cannot specify the following information for the e-mail message that is created when a user clicks the "mailto" hyperlink: - An e-mail address in the Cc box
- An e-mail address in the Bcc box
- Text in the body of the e-mail message
This behavior also occurs in existing "mailto" hyperlinks. Additionally, when you right-click a hyperlink and then click Edit hyperlink, you notice that the spaces in the hyperlink have been replaced with %20. Note This issue may occur in Microsoft Outlook when you use Microsoft Word as the e-mail editor. WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue if you have not yet created a "mailto" hyperlink, follow these steps: - On the Insert menu, click Hyperlink.
- Under Link to, click E-mail Address.
- In the E-mail address box, type an e-mail address.
Note When you type an e-mail address, the text "mailto:" is automatically added to the start of the e-mail address that is displayed in the document. - In the Subject box, type the following text to enter an e-mail address in the Cc box, an e-mail address in the Bcc box, and text in the body of the e-mail message that is created when a user clicks the "mailto" hyperlink:
Subject%20Message&cc=e-mail address;&bcc=e-mail address;&body=Text%20of%20the%20message. Note The e-mail address and the subject automatically appear in the Text to display box. To change the text that is displayed in the document, change the text in the Text to display box. - Click OK.
To work around this issue if you have already created a hyperlink, follow these steps: - Right-click the "mailto" hyperlink, and then click Edit Hyperlink.
- In the Subject box, type the following text to enter an e-mail address in the Cc box, an e-mail address in the Bcc box, and text in the body of the e-mail message that is created when a user clicks the "mailto" hyperlink:
Subject%20Message&cc=e-mail address;&bcc=e-mail address;&body=Text%20of%20the%20message. - Click OK.
