Nested DocLink is deleted when you use the Exchange Migration Wizard for Lotus Notes to migrate mail from Lotus Domino to Exchange Server (916763)

WORKAROUND

Converting DocLinks to Rich Text Format (RTF) format has limitations. To work around this problem, use one of the additional formatting options in the Exchange Migration Wizard for Lotus Notes. You can use a URL format or an OLE format. These options do not migrate the data. Instead, the options provide a link back to Lotus Notes. This will work around the access problems during migration because the link points back to the original data in Lotus Notes.

To change the format of DocLinks, follow these steps:

1. Start the Exchange Migration Wizard for Lotus Notes.
2. Under Specify how to convert Notes DocLinks on the Migration Information page, select the format that the Exchange Migration Wizard will use to convert Lotus Notes DocLinks.
   
   Note The options are follows:
   • OLE This format is represented by an icon in the Exchange message. When the user clicks the icon, Lotus Notes starts and the document link works as usual. This behavior occurs if the ID file that is being used has access to the document. Lotus Notes must be installed on the client.
   • RTF This format converts the document to RTF format. This attachment is a copy of the data from the original Lotus Notes document. Therefore, users cannot modify the document.
   • URL This format converts the link to a URL. When you click the URL, the default Web browser starts. The default Web browser then tries to access the server that the URL points to. This is the server that is running Lotus Notes. Unless anonymous authentication is allowed, the user requires a Lotus Notes name, a password, and a license to access the document.
