Mail flow stops from Lotus Notes to Exchange Server 2003 after you apply hotfix 829989 (916641)

SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. A Lotus Notes user exchanges e-mail with a user in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 organization. The e-mail is routed through Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Connector for Lotus Notes. The e-mail thread includes history information. After about five or six replies on this e-mail thread, the e-mail message develops text formatting issues. Therefore, the e-mail message becomes unreadable. You then apply the hotfix for this problem that is provided in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 829989 A message that is sent repeatedly through Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes develops text formatting problems
After you do this, mail flow stops from Lotus Notes to Exchange Server, and the Lsntsmex.exe process stops responding.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, you must download and then install the latest version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Connector for Lotus Notes.
