SYMPTOMS

When you try to configure Microsoft Fingerprint Reader to provide access to a file that is password protected on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you cannot use Fingerprint Reader. You also receive the following error message:
This screen is not a log on screen. To create a fingerprint logon, you must first use your browser to display the log on page for a Web site.

The Fingerprint Reader device is not designed to provide access to files that are password protected.
