SYMPTOMS

When you try to start Microsoft Streets & Trips 2004, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Streets & Trips has encountered a problem and will be shut down.
The details of this error message include the following:
AppName: streets.exe
AppVer: 11.0.18.1900
ModName: mgxlui_2.dll
ModVer: 8.0.1.0

CAUSE

The problem may be caused by the Mgxlui_2.dll file. The Mgxlui_2.dll file is a printer driver.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install a dummy printer driver such as a Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 550C. Then, configure the dummy printer to be the default printer. When you are ready to print a document from any program, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. In the Name list under Printer, click the printer that you want to use.
  3. Click OK.
