SUMMARY

This article describes a software update that introduces support in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based processors. This update applies to Windows Server 2003 installations for which the following conditions are true:
  • The Itanium-based processor uses an instruction cache that is larger than the data cache.
  • The instruction cache is not coherent with the data cache.
The affected Itanium-based processors include the Intel Itanium 2 and Montecito processors.
