SYMPTOMS

You try to create a project task in the Groove Virtual Office Task Manager tool or in the Groove Workspace Project Manager tool by using a start date of As soon as possible. When you do this, you may receive the following error message:
Invalid start day of week.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because when the project starts on a Monday, some conditions cause the task start date to translate to a Sunday. Sunday is considered to be an invalid start date.

Examples of such conditions are as follows:
  • You are in a different time zone from the manager of the project.
  • You do not have the Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes option enabled.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, you may want to use the TeamDirection Project tool. This tool is available as part of Groove Virtual Office Project Edition. The TeamDirection Project tool maintains dates across all time zones. Additionally, the tool enables projects to include weekend dates.
