INTRODUCTION

This article describes how the display options for your online presence affect the ability of other workspace members to see you online in Groove Virtual Office and in Groove Workspace.

MORE INFORMATION

Workspace awareness is distinct from Contact and LAN awareness in Groove. You can limit Contact and LAN awareness in your account preferences as follows:
  • You select the All users in My Contacts option. When you do this, only your Groove contacts see you as being online in all displays that provide presence information.

Note Members of a workspace that you are in can always see your true presence status in the Members display for that workspace. Workspace presence cannot be hidden.
  • You select the All workspace members option or the All Groove users in your shared spaces option. When you do this, members of a workspace that you are in can see your true presence status in other locations in addition to the workspace. These locations include Contact lists and the Info screen for a directory member.
To change these options in Groove Virtual Office, follow these steps:
  1. Click Preferences on the Options menu, and then click the Options tab.
  2. Click to select the options that you want under Show your online presence to.
To change these options in Groove Workspace, follow these steps:
  1. Click Go To, and then click My Account.
  2. Click to select the options that you want under Show your online presence to.
