Error message when you try to run Groove Workspace 2.5 as a Windows user who does not have administrator permissions: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file" (915666)

SYMPTOMS When you try to run Groove Workspace 2.5 as a Microsoft Windows user
who does not have administrator permissions, you may receive the following error message: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or
file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the
item. CAUSEThis issue occurs when the permissions
setting for the C:\Program Files\Groove Networks directory is incorrect.RESOLUTIONTo work around this issue, follow these steps: - Log on to the system as an administrator.
- In Windows Explorer, locate the C:\Program Files\Groove
Networks directory. Right-click the Groove Networks folder, click Properties, click the Security tab, and then click Advanced.
- At the bottom of the dialog box, click to select the Inherit permissions option and the Replace permissions option.
Note The names of
these options may vary, depending on which version of Windows you are running. - Click OK.
You can now log out of Windows, log back on to Windows as a user who does not have administrator permissions, and then run Groove. STATUS This
problem was corrected in Groove Virtual Office 3.0.
