INTRODUCTION

This article describes what occurs to a Groove account when you revoke the associated Professional or Standard license.

MORE INFORMATION

If you purchased and distributed Groove Virtual Office 3.x licenses, and then you revoke one of those licenses, the affected account reverts to a test edition. Additionally, if you are running Groove Workspace 2.x, the affected account reverts to a Preview license when you revoke a license.

Therefore, the account cannot use the available features for either editions of Groove. Additionally, activities on the account may be subject to quantity limits.

915555 How Groove handles restricted features when you use a Trial or a Preview edition of Groove, and you are a member of a workspace that includes licensed users

When you revoke the associated Professional or Standard license for a license that is issued from a managed Groove domain, the following symptoms occur:
  • If the account was issued as part of a managed Groove domain, the account no longer functions.
  • If the account was converted from a test or Preview account, the managed identity is removed. Then, a managed identity is added in a Groove domain. However, the original identity remains intact and reverts to the previous license.

Note In this situation, the identity does work on a managed device if the only allow managed identities on this device option is enabled.
