SYMPTOMS

When you import your account on another computer, some workspaces are available from all workspace members in Groove Virtual Office or in Groove Workspace. However, some workspaces are available only from the first computer.

MORE INFORMATION

When you export an account, that account record includes information about the workspaces to which the account belongs. Additionally, the account record includes information about the other members that each workspace has. When you import the account on a second computer, that computer is limited to the information that was saved. Therefore, if the account was exported from the first computer after a workspace was created, the second computer can fetch the space from any members that the workspace had when the account was exported. If the account was exported from the first computer before a workspace was created, the second computer can fetch the workspace only from the first computer. For example, consider the following scenario.

Note In this scenario, Account1 and Account2 represent Groove accounts. PC1 and PC2 represent computers. Workspace1 and Workspace2 represent Groove workspaces.
  1. Account1 is on one computer, PC1.
  2. Account1 creates a workspace, Workspace1.
  3. Account1 invites Account2 to Workspace1.
  4. Account2 accepts.
  5. Account1 exports the account. Then, Account1 imports the account on another computer, PC2.
  6. On PC1, Account1 creates another workspace, Workspace2. Then, Account1 invites Account2 to Workspace2.
  7. Account2 accepts.
In this scenario, the following behavior occurs for Account1 on PC2:
  • When Account1 tries to fetch Workspace1, Fetch From will show both PC1 and workspace member Account2. This behavior occurs because the account was exported from PC1 after Workspace1 was created and after Account2 accepted.
  • When Account1 tries to fetch Workspace2, Fetch From will show only PC1. This behavior occurs because the account was exported from PC1 before Workspace2 was created and before Account2 accepted.
