INTRODUCTION

This article describes how turning the synchronization option off and then on again affects the meeting and calendar entries that are synchronized from Groove to Microsoft Outlook.

MORE INFORMATION

Consider the following scenario. You synchronize meeting or calendar items from Groove to Outlook. Then, you turn the synchronization option off. You then turn the synchronization option back on again. In this scenario, Groove has no information about the previously synchronized items. Therefore, Groove behaves as if it is performing a new synchronization. The following is a list of how Groove behaves in this scenario:
  • If you delete a synchronized entry in Outlook, Groove does not add it back. However, if you turn the synchronization option off and then on again, Groove adds the entry again.
  • If you move a synchronized entry in Outlook, Groove does not move it back. However, if you turn the synchronization option off and then on again, Groove moves the entry back to its default location.
  • If you change a synchronized entry in Outlook, Groove does not change it back. However, if you turn the synchronization option off and then on again, Groove overwrites the entry with the information that is in Groove.
Note Groove cannot update the location field in Microsoft Office 2000 unless you apply Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
