INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to find the Groove version and workspace version compatibility requirements for a particular tool in Groove Virtual Office and in Groove Workspace.

MORE INFORMATION

Some Groove tools require a specific Groove version or a specific workspace version to run. To view the requirements of a tool, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for the version of Groove that you are running.

Groove Virtual Office

  1. In any workspace, click Add Tools, and then select More Tools.
  2. Find the name of the tool for which you want to view version requirements.
  3. Click to select the tool, and then click Properties. The properties of the tool will be displayed. Look for the versions that are displayed to the right of the Requirements field.

Groove Workspace

  1. In any shared space, click Add Tool.
  2. Find the name of the tool for which you want to view version requirements.
  3. Right-click the tool name, and then click Properties. The properties of the tool will be displayed. Look for the versions that are displayed to the right of the Requirements field.
If the workspace version that is required for the tool is later than your workspace version, you receive an error message. Additionally, you cannot add the tool. You must create a new workspace by using a version that is compatible with the tool, and then move the workspace data to the new workspace.

If you are using an earlier Groove version than the tool requires, you receive a warning message. Additionally, you cannot enter the tool until you upgrade your version of Groove.
