INTRODUCTION

This article describes a method that may work when you want to recover a tool that you delete in Groove Workspace or in Groove Virtual Office. You may have to recover a tool if the tool has required information in it.

MORE INFORMATION

When you try to delete a tool, you receive the following message:Are you sure you want to delete toolname? This operation cannot be undone. After you click OK, that tool, together with all its data, is removed from the workspace. However, another member of the workspace may be offline at the time that you delete the tool. In this case, the tool will not be deleted from that member's copy of the workspace until the next time that member brings Groove online. To recover the deleted tool, immediately contact that member outside Groove, and then follow these steps:
  1. Open the Groove logon screen, but do not log on.
  2. Click the Groove icon that appears in the notification area, and then click Work Offline.
  3. Log on to Groove.
  4. Open your workspace list, and then right-click the workspace that has the tool that you are trying to save.

In Groove Virtual Office, point to Save As, and then click Archive.

In Groove Workspace, point to Copy As, and then click Archive.

This procedure creates a copy of the workspace in its current state, except that the only member of the workspace is the user who copies it.
  5. Click to clear Work Offline. Alternatively, reconnect your computer to the network.
  6. Invite all members of the original workspace into the copy of the workspace.
Note Any changes that were made to this workspace after the last time that you logged on will not be present in the copy of the workspace.
