INTRODUCTION

When you invite a new member to a workspace in Groove Virtual Office or in Groove Workspace, the new member may receive a copy of a file that only you have.

Consider the following scenario. You are a member of a workspace who has permissions to change or to add files. While you work offline, a manager removes your permissions to change or to add files. This change takes effect immediately when you return to the online workspace.

In this case, any files that you changed or added while you worked offline will not be propagated to other members of the online workspace. However, files that you changed or added are saved locally.

When you then invite a new member to the workspace, the new member receives the local copy of the workspace. This local copy includes the locally saved files that you changed or added. No other member of the workspace has these files.

Note It is unusual for a role to be granted permissions to invite new members to a workspace but not to change or to add files. By default, no roles have these permissions.
