SYMPTOMS

When you try to upgrade Groove Workspace 2.5i to Groove Virtual Office 3.x, you receive the following error message:

Installation Failed!

In order to process this component request, an up-to-date version of SystemInstaller.exe must be downloaded and installed.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, you must update Groove Workspace 2.5i to a later version of Groove Workspace 2.5 before you upgrade to Groove Virtual Office 3.x. To update Groove 2.5, visit the following Web site:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Groove Workspace 2.5i.

MORE INFORMATION

This issue does not occur with Groove Workspace 2.5h and earlier versions. This issue does not occur with Groove Workspace 2.5j and later versions of Groove Workspace 2.5.
