SYMPTOMSWhen two members of a workspace make identical edits to a file in Groove Virtual Office or in Groove Workspace, a conflict file is created.CAUSEThis issue occurs when Groove cannot determine that the edits are identical. For example, if the members of the workspace use different versions of Microsoft Word, identical changes to the readable content of a file will cause differences in the binary file. Therefore, Groove creates a conflict file.
Note Changes that are made to Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and Microsoft Excel worksheets on different computers always cause binary differences. This behavior occurs even if the same version of Microsoft Office is used.
