FIX: The Campaign Data Import DTS task fails in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 3 (915437)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 SP3, when used with:
    • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server SP4
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition SP3

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You run Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4).
  • You upgrade the computer from SQL Server 2000 SP3 to SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4).
  • You try to run the Campaign Data Import Data Transformation Services (DTS) task.
In this scenario, the Campaign Data Import DTS task fails. Additionally, the following event is logged in the event log: Event Type: Error
Event Source: Commerce Server 2000
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8198
Date: <Date>
Time: <Time>
User: N/A
Computer: <ComputerName>
Description: Marketing DTS: Source: ADODB.Connection Description: Connection string specified is too long. Please review your connection string.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information
