Error message when you try to open a custom help page in Microsoft CRM 3.0: "Instructions for customizing Help for a custom Entity can be found here" (915409)

The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you customize Help for a custom entity by using the instructions that are provided in the Microsoft CRM Software Development Kit (SDK). Specifically, you create a custom help page for the custom entity. When you try to open the custom help page, you receive the following error message:
"Debug -URL Request" Error

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft CRM 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, or Windows 2000, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.

System administrators can use the Spuninst.exe utility to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000. The Spuninst.exe utility is located in the following folder:
