Error message when you try to install the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Office Outlook: "Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Client.InstallAbpAction failed" (915191)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook, when used with:
- Microsoft CRM 3.0
SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario: - You have installed Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition by using an administrative installation share.
- You have installed the Microsoft Office 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) for one of the following languages:
- Danish
- German
- French
- Italian
- Simplified Chinese
In this scenario, if you try to install the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook, you receive the following error message: Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Client.InstallAbpAction failed.
Exception from HRESULT: 0x8004010F. Additionally, the Crm30clientsetup.log file contains the following entries: 14:02:06| Info| InputResult: Retry 14:02:06| Info| MAPISVC.INF: C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1030\mapisvc.inf 14:02:06| Info| Starting CrmForOutlookInstaller process. Log file is located at: C:\Documents and Settings\it_ek\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\crm30foroutlookinstaller- 1-26-2006.log 14:02:06| Info| Outlook Installer process Complete 14:02:06| Error| Outlook installer failed with hr = 8004010F Notes- The Office 2003 MUI must be purchased from a distributor. The Office 2003 MUI is unavailable for public download.
- By default, the Crm30clientsetup.log file is located in the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\user_profile\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs user_profile is the folder that contains the profile of the user who installed Microsoft CRM.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because of the following reasons: - The Office 2003 MUI is installed before the Microsoft CRM client for Outlook is installed.
- The language is not set to English.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, follow these steps: - Switch the Office language settings to English before you install the Microsoft CRM client for Outlook. To do this follow theses steps:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office Language Settings.
- Set the display language to English.
Note If you install the Microsoft CRM client for Outlook by using Group Policy, or if you do not want to manually apply the setting, you can alternatively set the following registry subkey on the client computer:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\LanguageResources: UILanguage Value = 1033
- Install the Microsoft CRM client for Outlook.
- After the installation is complete, start the Microsoft CRM client for Outlook, and then verify that it works as expected.
