SYMPTOMS

When you try to update a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer by using Windows Update Version 5, you receive the following error message:
0x80240030 Cannot Access Windows Update

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) client version 1.5.
