You upgrade from Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 to Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac Version 7. This article describes how to import a Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 virtual machine after you install Virtual PC for Mac Version 7.

Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 and earlier versions of Virtual PC for Mac are incompatible with the Apple Power Mac G5 processor. Therefore, you may want to purchase Virtual PC for Mac Version 7 and then import a virtual machine from Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1.

To import a Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 virtual machine after you upgrade to Virtual PC for Mac Version 7, follow these steps:
  1. Start Virtual PC for Mac Version 7.
  2. In the Virtual PC List window, click New.
  3. Click Import from a previous version, and then click Begin.
  4. In the Import a PC window, click the Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 virtual machine that you want to import, and then click Import.
