You cannot play songs on iTunes when you use a Wireless Optical Desktop Pro 2.0 device that is running IntelliType Pro 5.2 (914978)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.0
  • Microsoft IntelliType Pro 5.2

SYMPTOMS

When you use a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro 2.0 device that is running Microsoft IntelliType Pro 5.2, you cannot play songs on iTunes.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because IntelliType Pro 5.2 is incompatible with iTunes.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, remove the Type32.exe program from the Startup folder. When you remove the Type32.exe program, you will disable the Microsoft Office Keyboard Hot Keys. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click Start, and then click Open.
  2. Double-click Programs, and then double-click Startup.
  3. In the Startup folder, drag Type32.exe to the desktop.
  4. Restart the computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
