You cannot change the credit limit or the interest rate for a credit card account in the Standard editions of Microsoft Money (914968)

SYMPTOMSYou cannot change the credit limit or the interest rate for a credit card account in the Standard editions of Microsoft Money.CAUSEThis behavior occurs because the Standard editions of Money do not include the feature that lets you change the credit limit or the interest rate for a credit card account.WORKAROUNDChange the credit limit of a credit card account in the Standard editions of MoneyMicrosoft Money 2005 and Microsoft Money 2006- Start Money.
- On the Banking tab, click Account List.
- In the Account list, right-click the credit card account that you want to use, and then click See Account Settings.
- In the Account type list, click Bank.
- In the Balance Information section, type the credit card limit as a negative number. For example, if the limit for the credit card is $1,000.00, type -1000.
- In the Account type list, click Credit Card.
- In the Change account settings dialog box, click Done.
Microsoft Money 2004 and earlier versions- Start Money.
- On the Banking tab, click Account List.
- In the Account list, right-click the credit card account that you want to use, and then click Account Details.
- Click Change Type, click Bank, and then click OK.
- In the Balance Information section, type the credit card limit as a negative number. For example, if the limit for the credit card is $1,000.00, type -1000.
- Click Change Type, click Credit Card, and then click OK.
- In the Change account settings dialog box, click Done.
Change the interest rate of a credit card account in the Standard editions of MoneyMoney 2005 and Money 2006- Start Money.
- On the Banking tab, click Account List.
- In the Account list, right-click the credit card account that you want to use, and then click See Account Settings.
- In the Account type list, click Liability.
- In the Liability Details section, click Change Liability Details.
- In the Credit Card Account Name Details dialog box, in the Interest rate field, type the interest rate that you want.
- Cclick to select the Pay balance each period check box, and then click OK.
- In the Account type list, click Credit Card.
- In the Change account settings dialog box, click Done.
Money 2004 and earlier versions- Start Money.
- On the Banking tab, click Account List.
- In the Account list, right-click the credit card account that you want to use, and then click Account Details.
- Click Change Type, click Liability, and then click OK.
- In the Liability Details section, click Change Liability Details.
- In the Credit Card Account Name Details dialog box, type the interest rate that you want in the Interest rate box, click to select the Pay balance each period check box, and then click OK.
- Click Change Type, click Credit Card, and then click OK.
- In the Change account settings dialog box, click Done.
