SYMPTOMS

When you view an e-mail message in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, an incorrect font may be displayed.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you view a Rich Text Format (RTF) e-mail message in Outlook 2003.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, configure Outlook 2003 to use Microsoft Word to view RTF e-mail messages:
  1. Start Outlook 2003.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. Click the Mail Format tab, and then click to select the following check boxes:
    • Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages
    • Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to view Rich Text e-mail messages
  4. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
