You may experience inking problems when you use the advanced inking features in OneNote 2003 SP1 (914812)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the advanced inking features in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you may experience inking problems.

For example, when you use the Eraser tool, it may take longer than expected to obtain the eraser tool. Additionally, inking that you have created may be erased.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when one or more of the following conditions are true:
  • You are running a higher resolution profile.
  • You are recording video while you are performing inking functions.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one or more of the following methods.

Method 1: Use a lower resolution profile

To change the resolution profile, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click Audio and Video.
  3. In the Profile box, click a lower video resolution, and then click OK.

Method 2: Quit all other functions

When you use the advanced inking features, do not perform any other functions at the same time.
