You cannot add pictures or sound clips to instant messages in Groove Workspace 2.5 (914760)

SYMPTOMS

In Groove Workspace 2.5, you cannot add pictures or sound clips to instant messages that are sent from certain accounts.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the account was created in Groove 1.x.

The ability to add pictures or sound clips to instant messages was introduced in Groove Workspace 2.5. However, you must have an upgraded account to add pictures or sound clips to instant messages.

Most accounts are automatically upgraded when you install Groove Workspace 2.5 or a later version of Groove. However, some older Groove 1.x accounts are not upgraded with Groove Workspace 2.5.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, install Groove Virtual Office 3.0. Groove Virtual Office 3.0 upgrades all older accounts. Additionally, Groove Virtual Office 3.0 extends the ability to add pictures or sound clips to instant messages to all accounts.
