Error message when you try to export certain notes by using the Groove Workspace 2.x Notepad tool: "Error occurred attempting to export note" (914758)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to export certain notes with the Groove Workspace 2.x Notepad tool, you receive the following error message:

Error occurred attempting to export note.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when you export a note from the Groove Notepad tool. When you use the Groove Notepad tool, Groove will try to use the title of the note as the file name for the export file. If that title contains any characters that are not valid in a file name, you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section. Additionally, the export fails.

MORE INFORMATION

To work around this issue, install Groove Virtual Office 3.x. The Groove Virtual Office 3.x version of the Notepad tool will convert invalid characters to underscores. Additionally, the Groove Virtual Office 3.x version of the Notepad tool will continue exporting the note.
