Error message when you try to save your Groove account: "The attribute value is too long" (914757)

  • Groove Workspace 2.5 Preview Edition
  • Groove Workspace 2.5 Professional Edition
  • Groove Workspace 2.5 Project Edition
  • Groove Workspace 2.5 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

If you are using Groove Workspace 2.5d or an earlier version of Groove Workspace, you may receive the following error message when you try to save your account to the network or to a file:

The attribute value is too long.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of the size of your account. In Groove 2.5d and earlier versions of Groove, backing up a large account may cause Groove to fail with this error message.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, upgrade your Groove software to the latest version of Groove. Groove Workspace versions 2.5e and later versions of Grove do not have this account size restriction.
