Groove Workspace 2.5

In the initial release of Groove Workspace 2.5, you could use the Work Offline mode to schedule automatic synchronizations with a SharePoint Team Services site while you worked offline. Although you could synchronize Groove with a SharePoint Team Services site, you could not synchronize with other Groove users. If you tried to manually synchronized Groove with a SharePoint Team Services site while you were in Worked Offline mode, you would receive a prompt to resume communications.

Groove Virtual Office and later versions of Groove Workspace 2.5

In Groove Workspace 2.5 and in Groove Virtual Office, the Work Offline mode is affected differently. At the time that an automatic synchronization is supposed to occur, you receive a notification that automatic synchronization is disabled if you are in Work Offline mode.

Even though the automatic synchronization does not occur, the time of the next automatic synchronization is still updated. For example, consider the following scenario. You set the synchronization interval to 30 minutes. The synchronization is scheduled to start at 22:00 hours. However, the synchronization did not occur because you were in Work Offline mode. Even though the synchronization did not occur, Groove will try to synchronize with the SharePoint Team Services site at the next schedule interval time of 22:30 hours.
