INTRODUCTION

This article describes the data that you can expect to receive when you join a workspace in Groove Workspace or in Groove Virtual Office.

MORE INFORMATION

By default, all members of a workspace receive all the data that is added to that workspace. In Groove Virtual Office, if you are a member of a workspace, you can configure any folder in the Files tool so that only files under a certain size are automatically downloaded by your computer. Groove Virtual Office will download larger files when you request the files. However, in Groove Workspace 2.5, you can only set this limit if you are the workspace manager. And, this limit is the same for all workspace members.

When you accept an invitation to a workspace in Groove Virtual Office, the account that invited you responds by sending the data in the workspace to you. You receive all the data in the workspace except for files that exceeded the size limit that is specified in the folder properties at the time the files were added. If a folder in the Files tool has a set size limit for files that are automatically downloaded, you receive only those files that met the criteria for automatic download at the time that the files were added to the workspace.

However, in Groove Workspace 2.5d and earlier versions, all the files of the account that invited you are included in the data in the workspace that is sent to you. This includes files that the member who invited you manually downloaded. Therefore, if you are using Groove Workspace 2.5d or earlier, upgrade to the latest version of Groove Workspace if the following conditions are true:
  • You have a limited connection.
  • The workspace has files that exceed the size of the automatic download.
Also, make sure that the member who invited you is using the latest version of Groove Workspace.
