INTRODUCTION

This article describes when Groove Virtual Office or Groove Workspace will send e-mail invitations by using Microsoft Outlook.

MORE INFORMATION

In Groove Workspace, if you invite an Outlook contact to a Groove workspace, the e-mail invitation is always sent by using Outlook. Depending on the environment, other e-mail invitations might be sent by using Outlook or by using Groove servers.

In Groove Virtual Office, you can choose how e-mail invitations are sent. The first time that you send an e-mail invitation to an e-mail contact, Groove will prompt you whether you want to send the invitation by using Outlook. This behavior occurs regardless of whether the contact is an Outlook contact. If you click No, the invitation and all future invitations will be sent by using Groove. If you click Yes, the invitation and all future invitations will be sent by using Outlook. You will not be prompted to specify again whether you want to send the invitation by using Outlook. If you want to change your original selection, you can do so on the Options tab of Preferences dialog box.

If you select to use Outlook, and Outlook is already running when you send an e-mail invitation, the invitation will be sent immediately. If Outlook is not running, the invitation will be saved in the Outlook Outbox until the next time that you start Outlook and then send or receive e-mail messages.
