INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to save changes to a file back to Groove Virtual Office or to Groove Workspace when the file and the program that was used to create the file are still open.

MORE INFORMATION

When you open a file that is posted in the Files tool or in Document Review tool in Groove, the file opens in the program that was used to create the file, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Adobe Photoshop. If you change the file, you can save the changes back to Groove even if the file and the program that was used to create the file are still open. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Save the file in the program that was used to create the file. For example, if you change a Microsoft Word document, click Save on the File menu.
  2. Click any open Groove window.
  3. Click Yes when you receive the following message: Groove has detected changes in File_name.ext. Do you want to save the changes back to Groove?
Note Every time that you save your changes back to Groove, these changes will be sent to all the other members of the workspace.
