SYMPTOMS

Time stamps in Groove Workspace may be incorrect by one hour if the Microsoft Windows clock is set not to adjust for daylight saving time.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when Windows clock is set not to adjust for daylight saving time. Groove computes the current time by time zone offset from Coordinated Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time). In Groove Workspace 2.1 and earlier versions of Groove, Groove applied its own daylight saving time rules without reference to the Windows time settings. Therefore, if Windows clock is set not to automatically adjust for daylight saving time, your time stamps, such as those in the Chat, Discussion, and Document Review tools, would be incorrect by one hour during daylight saving time.

RESOLUTION

This problem is fixed in Groove Workspace 2.5. To resolve this problem, upgrade to the latest version of Groove.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior occurs even if you set your time zone to one that does not use daylight saving time, such as the (GMT-07:00) Arizona time zone. There issue does not occur during the winter months.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Groove Workspace 2.1 and earlier versions of Groove. This problem was first fixed in Groove Workspace 2.5.
