SYMPTOMS

When you invite a user who is using an earlier version of Groove to join a workspace, you receive a message that states that the user must upgrade Groove to join the workspace.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the user is using a version of Groove that is earlier than the version that is required by the workspace template. When you create a workspace, the workspace template for a specific version of Groove is used. Tools from this version are added to the template.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:
  • Ignore this message. And, send the invitation. The other user will receive a message that states that they must upgrade Groove to join the workspace.
  • When you create a workspace, click Advanced in the Create New Workspace dialog box, and then enter an earlier version of Groove in the Invitees need at least box.

Note If you enter an earlier version of Groove when you create a workspace, the workspace template from the earlier version is used. Users who are using the earlier version of Groove will be able to access the workspace without upgrading Groove. However, the workspace features will be limited to the features of the earlier version of Groove.
