INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Groove Binary Files store.

MORE INFORMATION

Groove stores data for workspaces in local databases. Some of this data is stored as binary files. For example, the following data is stored as binary files:
  • Files in the Files tool
  • Files in the Pictures tool
  • Files that are included as file attachments in entries in the Discussion tool
In Groove 1.2 and later versions of Groove, the binary files are stored in a single location that is called the Binary Files store. This change makes it easier to manage files and resources in Groove. Additionally, this change laid the groundwork for significant performance improvements in Groove 1.3 and later versions of Groove.
