SYMPTOMSWhen you add lots of data to a workspace, the sound quality
of audio chat degrades in Groove Virtual Office or in
Groove Workspace.CAUSEWhen you add lots of data a workspace at the same time,
performance can be temporarily affected both locally and on the network. When
you add lots of data to a workspace, Groove requires the following:
- More network resources to send or receive the
data
- More processor resources to encrypt the data
- More disk space to store the data
As long as these operations
are in progress, Groove may not respond to commands immediately. Additionally,
other network or processor applications may be adversely affected. Because
sound connections require significant bandwidth and processing, the
sound quality in audio chat is especially
prone to a
degradation in performance. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, wait for the data
to be copied to the workspace before you use audio
chat.
