How to remove the licensing information in Office v. X for Mac (914210)

Caution The Remove Office tool may remove files that the following programs install:

• Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac
• Office v. X for Mac
• Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition

These files include Microsoft shared libraries, such as Microsoft OLE. Other programs may require these files. If a program does not start after you use the Remove Office tool, reinstall the program to fix the problem.

To remove the licensing information for Office v. X for Mac, follow these steps:

1. On the Office v. X for Mac Installation CD, locate the Remove Office tool in the following path:

   /Value Pack/Remove Office

   You can run the Remove Office tool directly from the Office v. X for Mac Installation CD. Alternatively, you can copy the Remove Office tool to the hard disk on the computer and then run the Remove Office tool.
   
   Note If you used a custom installation to install the Value Pack components, locate the Remove Office tool on the hard disk where Mac OS X is installed. The Remove Office tool is in the following path:

   /Applications/Microsoft Office v. X/Value Pack/Remove Office

2. Double-click Remove Office, press and hold down the OPTION key, click Remove Licensing Information Only, and then click Remove.
   
   Note When you press the OPTION key, Continue changes to Remove Licensing Information Only.
3. Close the Remove Office window, and then click Quit.

Note Start an Office v. X for Mac program. When you are prompted, enter the correct licensing information.
