BUG: Event ID: 803 occurs when a host-initiated processing call is made to the HIP service in Host Integration Server 2004 (913960)

SYMPTOMS

When a host-initiated processing (HIP) call is made from a host computer to the Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 HIP service, the HIP service may log the following error message in the Application log:

Description:
(803) A Transaction Integrator flow control module is reporting a failure.

HRESULT: 80070057

EXPLANATION
An error has occurred in the flow control Module identified above. The error occurred at the point identified by the Progress code identified above.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a Transaction Integrator (TI) HIP method has the same name as a data table or a structure that is defined in the Host Integration Server 2004 TI HIP object. You experience the behavior that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section when this method is called.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use unique names for all methods, data tables, and structures that are defined in a TI HIP object.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
