The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 SP2
  • Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0

SYMPTOMS

You use the SMS Administrator Console component in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) to add or to modify an SMS 2.0 site service account. When you do this, the following error is logged in the SMS 2.0 Sitectrl.log file:
ERROR: The "Site Definition" item in the master site control file "C:\SMS\inboxes\sitectrl.box\sitectrl.ct0" does not contain a "Property List" item named "NAL Reserved", or that item is corrupt.
Therefore, the site control file is rejected.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, perform a site reset by running the SMS 2.0 Setup program on the SMS 2.0 site server. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the SMS 2.0 site server, close any SMS Administrator consoles that are open.
  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, click Systems Management Server, and then click SMS Setup.
  3. Click Next two times, and then click Modify or reset the current installation.
