INTRODUCTION

When you create a hyperlink in Groove Virtual Office, you must use a complete URL.

MORE INFORMATION

When Groove encounters a link that is not a Groove link or a Lotus Notes link, Groove passes the link to Microsoft Windows to resolve. Web browsers can assume an HTTP protocol for unspecified URLs. Additionally, Web browsers frequently try alternative completions of a URL that fails as it was originally specified. However, the Windows API processes the link information only as it is specified. Any link that does not work from a Windows command line by using the start command will not work in a Groove link.

For example, if you type groove.net into the Address box in Microsoft Internet Explorer or in Netscape, the browser will convert the link to http://groove.net. If you type contoso.com, the browser will convert it to http://www.contoso.com. However, if you open a Command Prompt window and then type start groove.net, you will receive the following error message:
groove.net Windows cannot find 'groove.net'. Make sure that you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click Start and then click Search.
Without either "http" or "www" in the path, Windows cannot assume that the path is a Web address.
