Error message when you open Outlook: "Procedure entry point "WNetEnumCachedPasswords" could not be located in the dynamic link library MPR.dll" (913557)

SYMPTOMS

When you open Microsoft Outlook 2002 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, you receive the following error message:
The procedure entry point "WNetEnumCachedPasswords" could not be located in the dynamic link library MPR.dll.

RESOLUTION

  1. Close all open programs.
  2. In the C:\Windows\system32 folder, locate the Mapi32.dll file. Rename this file "Mapi32.old."
  3. Click Start, click Run, type fixmapi.exe, and then click OK.
  4. Restart the computer.
