SYMPTOMS
When you try to open a large Managed C++ (MC++) project in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, you may experience the following problems:
- Visual Studio may use 2 gigabytes (GB) of memory.
- CPU usage may reach 100 percent, and Visual Studio may crash.
- IntelliSense may stop working. When this problem occurs, Visual Studio crashes.
You may experience these problems if the project contains many .cpp source files and hundreds of include files.
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Visual Studio 2005 service pack that contains this hotfix.
