The Program Deletion Wizard displays unrelated advertisements in Systems Management Server 2003 (913324)

SYMPTOMS

When you delete a program from a package by using the Program Deletion Wizard, you see multiple advertisements that are listed for deletion. These advertisements reference programs that are not associated with the package.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when multiple programs have a common name.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, you can use a unique naming convention. For example, instead of Microsoft Office Setup, you can use a more specific name like Microsoft Office 2003 Setup.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

When you select a program to be deleted, only the advertisement for that program is affected. This is a bug in the SMS 2003 Program Deletion Wizard UI.
